Still Winter in Alaska

March was beautiful with 23 days of 12 hour sunshine. The snow piles were retreating into hills of dirt and mud. Kristen and I went camping on the knik river and woke up with snow on our tent and hightailed it home. It is supposed to snow a few inches and we should officially break the snow record. Anyway we hope everyone is enjoying their warm weather. Here's some pics of our outings recently.
Big momma
Silly goose
Hiking up the Knik River towards the Knik glacier
The birds and ducks are coming back so lucy has something to chase again.
Last year's salmon. Scary looking but delicious.
Iceberg ride
Kristen and lucy with the knik glacier about 12 miles back
Nate checking on where the river goes

We came across a bald eagle's nest.

Some skiing in Girdwood.
Semi-clear up top, cloudy in the middle and clear at the bottom. Sea level weather is weird.
Alyeska
Looking across the turnagain arm at the Kenai
It will look very different soon
Sunset on the Knik river
Some Lucy photography by Kristen

We camped out and watched the sunset til about 9
It was nice till we woke up to heavy wet snow. 4 inches and counting, guess we prematurely pulled out the tent camping.
