Down time in Alaska

We've definitley slowed down on the adventures as Kristen is swamped with two schools worth of kids not to mention being support for the staff. She has had teachers coming to her for mental health help and some even break down crying. I've been telling her we need to get her a psychiatrists couch for her offices. Nate has been procrastinating on working until after his trip back to CO next week for his good friend danny who is getting married. In the mean time he has been hiking and packing the freezer full of wild blueberries.
The horses when they are let out of the pasture.

Only half of the blueberries that now occupy the freezer.

We went to the AK state fair which was very different from most State fairs ( besides the rediculous fatty foods that you can gorge on most fairs). The vegetable exhibit has some of the largest veggies in the world.
Definitley the world's biggest pumpkin at 897 pounds
This one only slightly smaller at 7 and a half kristens.
Sorry Amy but Alaska is bigger and better.

A morning Hike in Archangel Valley

I never make it very far because I start to look for blueberries.
Lucy keeps watch for bears while I pick blueberries. She loves blueberries so I give her a few every once and a while and she sticks around.
Sunset
We have a silver fox ( he's actually all black w/ a silver tail) coming around lately and lucy watches out the window all night for him.
Not very good pictures but he is very smart and doesn't come too close because Lucy has chased him off a few times nearly catching him.

We are planning a pretty neat Labor Day trip. Just have to figure out what glacier we want to go see, there are so many. More updates next week. Look forward to seeing everyone in Colorado next week too!
