Panoramic Alaska

This weekend Kristen was fortunate enough to meet another school psychologist that had moved from Montana, Katherine.  Through Katherine we met Zach who grew up in Wasilla and asked if Nate wanted to go Silver Salmon fishing with him.  Zach is a professional grizzly and fishing guide.  Nate caught a 10 pound silver salmon! The only one of the day.  Needless to say, we're hooked on eating freshly caught salmon. :)
They took a boat up the Little Su River and along the way they saw several bald eagles and even a river otter which are 50-60 pounds and very rare.  Silver Salmon can weight up to 16 pounds and are apparently the most tasty of the salmon family.  The guys said Nate's salmon was 'a little guy.'
These are some of the panoramic pictures that I've finally had time to put together.  These are the mountains that you can see from the road driving to Moraine Lake in BC.
Portage Glacier.
Our campsite at Eklutna Lake.
Portage Glacier hike, I don't remember the names of the glaciers in the background.
These two sand cranes live on the property.  Lucy thoroughly enjoys chasing them until they're forced to fly into another meadow.

All for now :), until next weekend.
