Hunkering Down

In November we reserved a public use cabin (Dale Clemons) in Seward after previously checking it out in September.  The forecast was not promising.  We were hoping for snow but ended up getting poured on.  The experienced hurricane force winds at night.  Thank god we were't in a tent.

This is a picture of the cabin from September.  It's definitely one of the nicest cabins we've stayed in.

Soggy Hike.

Scouting possible ski lines.

Thanksgiving at the Beluga cabin.

Thanksgiving dinner with Matt, Jessica, Jordan.

Jordan was leaving to travel the world so he gave us our Christmas present early… backpack rain covers!!

We found out Jay can fit inside of it, haha.

Tram hike in Girdwood.

Cross country skiing in Hatcher Pass.

We flew back to Colorado for Christmas.  The sun was AMAZING.  We skied four days at Mary-Jane and enjoyed some down time at the cabin with the Delphs.  Chuck and Jan had recently returned from Azerbaijan and it was so nice to see them and catch up with friends.

We flew back to AK to ski a few days with friends before returning to work.  The bottom portion of Tincan was very interesting.  This creek is usually covered with snow!

Chasing the sun.

Ben, scaling the mountain.

Watching the sunrise on the mountains in the distance.  Our goal was to get the first tracks on Tincan.

Ben and Rachel's Dad flew over us in his plane while we were sitting on the summit.  Pretty crazy.

Sibling love.
