We are wayyy behind on our blog. Here's what was happening back in June and July when we flew back to Colorado. Nate and I visited our good friends Miranda and Andrew in Gunnison to see their beautiful new house. We took a gorgeous hike in Crested Butte. After the wedding Nate flew back up to Prudhoe Bay to work for 10 weeks on the same environmental project he helped with last year. I stayed in Colorado to spend some time with my parents, we went camping in Ridgeway and spent time exploring Ouray and Telluride…
Hiking in Crested Butte
Lucy and Reese sitting for treats.
Huge waterfall outside of Gunnison.
Camping with the horses in Buffalo Peaks.
Stopping for a bite of grass.
Blue sky, beautiful day.
I convinced my parents to do an early hike up Yankee Boy Basin to watch the sunrise. There were still several snow fields leftover from winter. Mom was thankful she had poles!

This is one of my favorite views of all time.
Bridal Veil Falls, still spectacular.
Picnic spot.
This was Nate's view of the Arctic Ocean when he first arrived in Prudhoe…. not good new for fishing.
Luckily, it started to melt quickly. It's weird to think this was the last week in June!
When I flew back to AK I had visitors. Jeff and Mike Bonvallet flew up to Alaska on their own.
They went out to the Copper River to help me with my first dip netting run. I can't thank them enough for helping me catch fish. My goal for the summer was to catch as many fish as was physically possible according to Nate.
Fall is fading quick so we'll be catching up with the blog once the snow starts to fly!
