Hi Everyone!
We decided to create a blog to keep everyone posted on our move to Alaska. Our hope is to update the blog along the way, which may not always happen if we're driving through the boonies. Just to catch everyone up to speed I got a job as a school psychologist with the Mat-su school district in Alaska. I'll be working at two elementary schools in Wasilla which is about an hour North of Anchorage. (And to answer your question, no we will not be seeing Sarah Palin when we get up there haha, this has been the most common question we get when telling people we're moving to Wasilla). Nate is looking for a job as an EMT or for a job that is science based. Overall, we're really looking forward to all of the activities (camping, hiking, mountain climbing, skiing, snowshoeing, pickling etc...) that Alaska has to offer.
Before starting our trip we decided to build a teardrop camper to pull behind the Cherokee. Nate and my brother Jay have been working on it nonstop and we've had great input from family and friends on the specifics of what the trailer should include. Here are some pictures of the building process.
We wanted to thank everyone for their part in helping us head for our dreams. Hopefully we won't break down til at least Canada but who knows. We're headed towards Banff, Canada where we will relax for a few days and upload more photos and stories so stay tuned!!
